S-14

The evening caddis hatch has been providing some phenomenal fishing during the evening hours.  Swinging tandem soft hackles right at  dark will produce fish of the caliber most fishermen don't know exist in these numbers on this river.   It has been CRAZY good.  The midday fishing is also holding its own, particularly on the lower river.  General attractor stuff like a stimi chew toy in tandem with a generic mayfly parachute has been as good as anything.  On some sections, the tricos are making a morning appearance as well and on the lower river, spruce moths have become a midday focus as well.  The fishing remains considerably better from below Missoula all the way to St. Regis than it is on the upper stretches.
