DSCN1199REPORT:

Based on the weather report, if you hit the Clark today, the odds are VERY good you're going to end up getting hit in the head with a REALLY big and very sharp piece of wind!  Probably several.  If that's how you roll that's fine, otherwise you may want to look at places where the pieces may be smaller.  The lower river generally gets the worst of it when the wind kicks up, but the fishing down there's been awfully good when there's even reasonable breezes.  Black streamers have been sticking lots of good browns from about Tarkio downstream, and the same is true on the WAY upper river as well.  There's decent March brown and skwala action on the rare, calm afternoons and if you do have that happen at some point, the foam lines will erupt with heads sipping March browns and BWOs.

HATCHES: Skwalas, March browns, caddis, baetis, nemouras.

FLIES: Big button emergers or parachute patterns for the March browns, standard skwala junk with 18" droppers. Big prince nymphs, Peacock double beads, Griffith's gnats and zebra midges on sunny days, slow moving crystal buggers or bunny junk in #8s that're black, olive or rust, double dutch skwala, size 18 adams or purple haze.

Other Info: With Streamers remember: Bright Day - Bright Streamer. And of course the opposite entails.
