The warm weather stalled the fall bugs a bit, but it looks like we have some cooler weather moving in. Be ready with mahoganies, gray drakes, and baetis patterns. Size 12 and 14 mahogany cripples are a must. D&D cripples, last chance cripples, and kingfisher cripples have been our go to mahoganies. BWOs have really shown up in the afternoon. If you do encounter particularly snotty pods, CDC patterns seem to be convincing the bigger fish. Dropping a size 16 green machine, or juju baetis off of your mahogany has been very productive. The streamer fishing on the lower river has become more consistent all the way down to the Clark Fork confluence. If you're not getting bumped, switch it up. Black sculpzillas and mini dungeons have worked well for us.
