Beginning in April, once a week we will post a brief description of a rig we saw during the previous week that had one of our Kingfisher stickers on the window. When you recognize it as being your car described in our hatch report, stop into the shop and pick out 2 dozen nymphs or dries on us!!

This week's winner of the two dozen free flies, just for having a Kingfisher sticker in his window, is a..... (drum roll)

Drive your rig down to the shop and pick up your bugs! Thanks for being a Kingfisher customer.

It's going to be a rainy day today on the Bitterroot.  With a forecast high of 53 degrees today and the existing high flows, the river is going to bump around a bit more before it starts to stabilize and allow the fishing to get good again.  If you already have the plans to head up here today, it's a good suggestion to keep whatever it is you're fishing tight to the banks where the fish are.  If you are going to be nymphing, a tandem nymph rig with black double beaded stones, pheasant tails, San Juan worms, red copper johns, Pat's rubber legs or any kind of skwala nymph should wrangle some trout for ya.  If you want to toss a couple streamers and get a chance at the bigger fish, big black articulated streamers, big dark buggers or double bunnies will all work well.  Keep in mind, the increased flows also come with an increase of danger and things that can go wrong.  keep an eye out for debris and obstructions, things can get real hairy in these conditions.

The Section between Woodside and Tucker is CLOSED due to the danger at the diversion dam.
