Pike Fishing Missoula

The Bitterroot has been on a steady drop all weekend long.  With the light snow and today's warmer temps we'll definitely see another bump in the flows.  The best fishing is still in the back and side channels and close to the banks but obvious runs that haven't been effected by the flows are still holding fish.  Fishing streamers and tandem nymph rigs will be your best bet with Pheasant tails, Egg patterns, San Juan worms, Double beaded stones, Pat's rubber legs, Red fox squirrels, and hares ear nymphs. For streamers use flash fries, sparkle minnows, yellow yummies, sculpzillas, and mouthwashes.  You may still see some March browns, drakes, and skwalas popping on top, so be prepared just in case with some top water bugs.
