Clark Fork River Fishing Report - 4/19

**Time to put the thermometer back in the fishing pack. Watch the afternoon water temp. We call it a day around the 70 degree mark. Keep em wet, use a net, size up in tippet, and get the fish in quickly. A few tips we recommend**

More of the same with the lower river near Missoula consistently running temperatures in the danger zone while the upper Bitterroot continues to be some of the coldest water in the area. So, you'll want to be on the upper/mid and NOT lower river. Hoppers, Bitterroot stones/goldens, and a few spruce moths are the hatches going on. Prospects are definitely better hitting the early morning hatches of PMDs and being off the water by about 2. Hot spot para-wulffs, brindle chutes, ext-body PMDs, midge clusters, para-PTs, and rcky-mtn mints are productive mayfly patterns that kept us bent. The river near Darby is peaking out at about 66 degrees these days, while the lower river near Missoula has hit 72 degrees the last 3 out of 5 days.
