REPORTS:
Eh . . . it's better than doing your taxes I guess. Well, it's SUBSTANTIALLY better than taxes even if the fishing isn't red hot. Kind of catch as catch can right now with the fish still not really keyed on anything specific yet. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Fish the spring seeps, warmer back channels and foam eddies in the afternoons. You'll take fish on tandem nymph rigs, streamers and, on the right afternoons - on dries too. Midges and small mayfly patterns for the risers, olive Powell sculpins and peacock double beaded stones in tandem with a red San Juan are good places to start. Mix it up until you find something that works.

HATCHES: midges, capnias

FLIES: Small prince nymphs, bacon and egg combos (San Juans in tandem with an egg patter), Griffith's gnats and zebra midges on sunny days, slow moving or jigged rabbit streamers in front of sighted pike.

Other Info: The Kingfisher is the largest dealer of Simms Fishing Products in the Rocky Mountains.
