The temps on all of our local rivers have been peaking out well above 70 degrees the last four days of June.  Combine this with flows at or near historic lows and it's a recipe for resource disaster!  The Kingfisher has been restricting all our guide trips to morning half days only.  We encourage the general public to do the same.  FWP should have all the rivers on Hoot Owl restrictions shortly but, until they do please do the right thing for the wild trout resource.

While getting out for the evening hatch might seem appealing, and while you'll definitely see rising fish, the mortality rate of fish caught under these extreme conditions is high.  If you do plan to fish, get on the water at daybreak and try to be off early afternoon.  The fishing will be good and you can avoid the oppressive heat to boot!  Remember, water temps are at their worst for the fish during the evening hours.
