Clark Fork Fishing Report - 10/9

Streamers are still rockin' it on the upper river and the dry fly action has been solid during the heat of the day. The hatches should come off more consistent with the cooler weather, and when the bugs are out, the fish have been up and eager. Mahogany duns and blue wing olives have been the name of the...

    Bitterroot Fishing Report - 10/9

The warm weather stalled the fall bugs a bit, but it looks like we have some cooler weather moving in. Be ready with mahoganies, gray drakes, and baetis patterns. Size 12 and 14 mahogany cripples are a must. D&D cripples, last chance cripples, and kingfisher cripples have been our go to mahoganies. BWOs have really shown up in the...

Rock Creek Fishing Report - 10/9

The weatherman says that today will be a little cooler than yesterday, but it's hard to know what to believe anymore. Just know that, regardless of the weather, Rock Creek is fishing quite well, and is worth your time this fall. Streamer fishing has been laughably GOOD. Sparkle minnows, mojo minnows, mini dungeons, and yellow yummies worked well for us...

Clark Fork Fishing Report - 10/2

The Clark Fork has been fishing very well from top to bottom. They're still taking larger bugs (hoppers, mahoganies, hecuba) on the surface, but are definitely interested in miniature mayflies (pseudos, tricos, BWOs)  when the time calls for it. For dries, use rusty spinners, midge clusters, tiltwing mahoganies, sprout baetis (button emergers), film critic cripples, brindle chutes, October caddis...

Rock Creek Fishing Report - 9/30

We're looking at 70 degree weather for the rest of the week. It should be good fall fishing on Rock Creek. Some bigger fish have started to show up on the lower end, so don't forget your streamer box. We have been having luck with mojo minnows, kreelex minnows, dirty hippies, mini sex dungeons, and sculpzillas. Mahoganies, fall drakes...

    Bitterroot Fishing Report - 9/30

The Bitterroot has fished really well the last couple weeks, but the lack of cloud cover this week has been challenging. Having a long dropper has been key. Perdigons, frenchies, big green machines, Macgruber nymphs, soft hackle P-tails, and two bit hookers have been working well. Mostly a mahogany, fall drake, hecuba, and baetis deal. Hoppers are still getting...

Rock Creek Fishing Report - 9/25

Rock Creek is suppose to get some rain today, but it's suppose to clear up for the weekend. As mentioned in our other hatch reports, BWOs and fall drakes should be the ticket. The colder weather might put the fish down a little bit in the morning, but they will eventually wake up. Once it warms up, October caddis and...

    Bitterroot Fishing Report - 9/25

The entire river has been fishing well as of late, and that includes the lower river by town. Mostly a mahogany, fall drake, hecuba, and baetis deal, which is nice since it keeps the guesswork to a minimum. Hoppers and ants are still turning fish, as well. Few tricos around too. You may have to experiment day to day...

    Blackfoot Fishing Report - 9/22

The Blackfoot has really shifted into fall mode, with October caddis, mahoganies, and fall drakes making a appearance. Hoppers and ants are still turning fish, as well. It's been pretty chilly up The Blackfoot, so getting a later start has been the way to go. For dries use tricos, parachute pheasant tails, BWOs, neversink caddis, hoppers, orange PMXs, orange...
