Rock Creek Fishing Report 7/2

The Creek is fishing great. Goldens, caddis, PMDs, and drakes are all on the menue on the creek these days. Water temps are heating up hitting 69 degrees yesterday. Hoot owl restrictions are right around the corner. Taking water remps throughout the day and ending your outing at an appropriate time is more important than ever to protect our fisheries.

Dry fly fishing has been phenomenal. Big foam patterns like the Water Walker, Plan-b, and Chubbies are all getting aggressive eats on the surface. For the caddis, drakes, and PMDs the Cornfed, Extended body Drake, and Film Critic PMD have all proven quite effective.

Nymphing has also been solid. But as the water heats up the fish will glue to the bottom for some rest so we recommend sticking to the dry game and leaving those resting fish alone.

Again, we as anglers have the resposabillity of protecting our fiseries and choosing to get off the water when temps get to hot.
